Lawn Grass Seed

There are four common mixes of lawn grass seed available from Rolawn Direct:

1. Fine lawn grass seed mixture This type of grass seed is only used where light use is anticipated. This will grow into a great looking lawn but will not stand up to heavy use by the family and especially children.

2. Standard lawn grass seed mixture This type of grass seed is ideal for family use. This will grow into a hard wearing lawn which should stand up to daily use by the family, children and pets.

3. Shade tolerant lawn grass seed mixture This type of grass seed is ideal for those shady areas around the garden where sunlight is minimal. This will grow into a lawn that will perform better than the above two mixtures where sunlight is sparse.

4. Drought tolerant lawn grass seed mixture This lawn seed is great for those areas that are dry or sheltered from the rain. This will grow into a lawn that can withstand dryer conditions than the three mixtures above

Maintenance of your lawn is crucial if you want a dark green coloured grass all year round.

Good lawn maintenance involves

Plenty of watering during the summer months
Regular mowing but do not cut the grass too short, especially in the dryer periods.
Regular feeding between May and October will ensure that the grass stays strong and healthy
